Domestic violence shrouds itself in secrecy. As a result, people either don't know or don’t believe they are being abused. Abuse grows in silence and fuels isolation and denial. Safety and healing only come when the victim recognizes they are in this situation. Because domestic violence takes so many forms, the more stories that can be shared the more likely a victim will recognize abuse in their own relationship and only then can the problem be addressed.
